Shameless Plug for AAA Insurance

 Holy Crap! I have the best auto insurance on the planet!

The accident was completely my fault. The damage to the truck was greater than the value of the truck. The repair shop closest to my house was over the Bay Bridge.

What did AAA do?

Pay for the towing. Pay to have the truck repaired instead of totalling it. Pay for a rental until the truck is fixed. And the BEST FUCKING PART:

The other driver also had AAA, so my claim will only have to pay her deductible. This means that my rates won't sky-rocket. They may not go up because the total payout is less than the amount it takes to put a point on my license. In fact, they may go DOWN because all AAA insurance is going down 6% next year.

I'm in complete awe. Do insurance companies like this really exist?

AAA is awesome when your car breaks down. Unfortunately, they use your money to lobby against emissions controls, and for gasoline subsidies road subsidies.
