Why I don't drive in SF

People thinks its funny that I don't like to drive in San Francisco. It's not that bad. Really. They tell me so. And I say, "I don't drive in SF because I hit things."

Today it was another car, in the left lane while I was trying to make a left turn from the middle lane because I was confused. No injuries and some minor body damage to both vehicles.

What have we learned:

AAA membership and insurance AAA fantastic! They towed my car to Oakland as part of the claim (no charge to me) and hooked me up with a rental (also no charge). The other driver also has AAA insurance so everything will be handled in-house, quickly and quietly.

My truck rocks! Despite the point of contact near the front, there's no internal damage. The door and wheel well are banged up, and might need some alignment work. Seatbelts work and no one was hurt.

Driving in SF sucks. Especially around the Hayes Valley area. Parking there the last few nights has been the thing of nightmares. BART and MUNI may be more expensive than driving, but still less than my deductible. Yowch!
